Sgian dubh displaying a basketweave composite handle and simple plain mounts. The pommel is surmounted with a walking male lion. The steel blade has a scalloped back edge and single fuller. The leather covered wooden scabbard has shield-shaped mounts and is marked on the reverse with the maker’s mark ‘RA’ for Robert Allison, together with hallmarks for sterling silver, Edinburgh, 1977, with the additional Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee mark.
Condition:
The original steel blade shows natural toning and discoloration. There are also some scuff marks to the silver due to wear and tear.
