This sgian dubh has a roe deer stag antler handle with a simple silver cap on top. The lower mount is plain. The steel blade has a scalloped back edge and single fuller. The leather covered wooden scabbard has twin shield-shaped mounts (could be engraved). The reverse is marked with the maker’s mark ‘RA’ for Robert Allison together with hallmarks for sterling silver, Glasgow, 1952, and stamped ‘SCOTLAND’.
Condition:
The original steel blade shows natural toning and discoloration.
