A pair of silver stud earrings decorated with a yellow and orange enamel sun on a white background surrounded by a halo of hammered silver. The reverse is signed in script 'JS' for Jane Short. The item was purchased in 1993 and comes with a copy of the Oxford Gallery receipt.
Jane Short is a renowned enameller with expertise in applying her colour to both jewellery and silverware which she has been doing since the 1970s. Her work can be found in several public collections including the National Museums Scotland, the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, and the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.
