A silver, satin-finished, three piece articulated brooch, styled as a medal, displaying a vibrantly enamelled winged bird in tones of blue, green, purple and yellow, capped with panel of enamelled squares in similar colours. The reverse has a hinged steel pin and c-scroll safety catch and is stamped 'JLB' for Jane Louise Birks (her maiden name) with hallmarks for London, 1995. The item was purchased in 1995 at Goldsmiths’ Fair and comes with the original receipt.
Jane Moore is a highly innovative, expert jeweller and enameller. Her career began in the 1970s after qualifying from Loughborough College of Art and Design in Silversmithing and Jewellery.
