The badge displays a circular belted garter enclosing the motto ‘THIS I’LL DEFEND’ while the crest within shows a man holding a group of arrows in one hand, while the other hand rests on a Royal crown for clan McFarlane. The reverse has a hinged steel pin and is stamped with the maker’s mark ‘F.N’ for F. Narborough, together with hallmarks for sterling silver, Birmingham, 1947 and ‘MADE IN GT BRITIAN’.
