A Scottish silver Donaldson clan badge by Peter Henderson, Inverness, 1937
The badge displays a circular belted garter enclosing the motto ‘PROMPTUS’, translated as ‘READY’, while the crest within shows an upright hand holding a dagger for clan Donaldson. The reverse has a hinged steel pin and is marked, ‘P.H’, with hallmarks for Glasgow, sterling silver, 1937.
Condition:
There is some tarnish within the lettering of the motto.
