A pair of square-stud earrings depicting an enamelled floral scene in vibrant tones of greens, oranges and blues, framed within engraved decoration. The reverse is inscribed ‘JS’ for Janes Short. The item was purchased in 1988 and comes with the original Oxford Gallery receipt.
Jane Short is a renowned enameller with expertise in applying her colour to both jewellery and silverware which she has been doing since the 1970s. Her work can be found in several public collections including the National Museums Scotland, the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, and the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.
