An enamel brooch in the form of a stylised wing decorated with white enamel and in soft tones of blues, yellow, greens and gold. The reverse has a hinged steel pin and c-scroll safety catch and is signed 'JS 1987' for Jane Short. The item was purchased in 1989 and comes with the original Oxford Gallery receipt.

Jane Short is a renowned enameller with expertise in applying her colour to both jewellery and silverware which she has been doing since the 1970s. Her work can be found in several public collections including the National Museums Scotland, the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, and the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.
