A small circular pendant depicting a West Highland galley sailing ship or birlinn in 925 hallmarked sterling silver set against a dark blue enamel background. It was designed by the celebrated Scottish Arts & Crafts maker Alexander Ritchie of Iona and made by the Scottish firm Iona Legends.
The accompanying new silver chain is an extendable ‘diamond cut curb’, 40-45cm in length, 1.5mm thickness, and is marked ‘925’ for sterling silver.
The pendant design is featured in a book on Alexander Ritchie’s drawings called ‘The Celtic Art of Iona’ by Iain MacCormick, p.38.
